Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager / Manager – Safety to lead and strengthen the Safety Management System at our Grain-Based Ethanol Plant. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, implementing safety standards, promoting a strong safety culture, and minimizing workplace risks.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, Odisha Factory Rules, PESO, OISD, and other applicable safety regulations.
· Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, SOPs, and safe work practices.
· Conduct Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and risk mitigation plans.
· Issue and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) for Hot Work, Height Work, Confined Space Entry, Electrical Isolation, Excavation, etc.
· Conduct safety inspections, audits, and compliance assessments across the plant.
· Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
· Organize mock drills for fire, chemical spills, and emergency response.
· Ensure availability and proper use of PPE by all employees and contractors.
· Conduct safety induction and regular training programs for employees and contract workers.
· Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
· Coordinate with Fire & Security teams for emergency preparedness.
· Liaise with Government Authorities during inspections and ensure statutory compliance.
· Prepare and maintain safety records, reports, legal registers, and MIS.
Qualification
· B.E./B.Tech in Engineering with Advanced Diploma/Post Diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by a State Technical Education Board/University.
· Candidates possessing a Diploma in Industrial Safety with relevant manufacturing experience may also be considered.
· Experience
· 8–15 years of experience in Industrial Safety in Chemical, Distillery, Ethanol, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, Pharmaceutical, or Process Manufacturing industries.
· Experience in Greenfield/Brownfield projects will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate
· Experience in Ethanol, Distillery, Chemical, or Process Plants.
· Strong knowledge of statutory safety compliance and emergency response systems.
· Capable of independently driving the plant safety function.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
