About the Role:
We need a sharp, energetic Production Engineer to handle day-to-day operations on our fabrication shop floor. You will be responsible for shifting drawings from the design desk to actual production, managing the workforce, and keeping jobs on schedule. This is a 100% floor-based role, perfect for someone who wants to build a strong foundation in heavy fabrication, welding setups, and assembly tracking.
What you will do every day:
- Line Supervision: Supervise daily floor activities, assigning tasks to fitters, welders, and gas cutters based on the weekly production plan.
- Drawing Interpretation: Read and explain fabrication drawings, structural blueprints, and bill of materials (BOM) to the workers.
- Material Tracking: Coordinate with the stores team to ensure raw materials, plates, pipes, and welding consumables are moved to the floor on time.
- Stage Monitoring: Track the progress of different jobs (cutting, rolling, fit-up, welding) and ensure cycle times are met without compromising safety.
- Problem Solving: Sort out minor floor-level issues like machine downtime, material shortages, or fit-up deviations.
What we are looking for:
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Around 2 years of experience working on a manufacturing or heavy fabrication shop floor.
- Ability to read complex engineering drawings and welding symbols comfortably.
- Basics of sheet metal work, rolling, plasma cutting, and common welding processes (MIG/TIG).
- Good man-management skills to handle floor workers and sub-contractors effectively.
- Willingness to work in shifts and put in hands-on effort on the floor.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
