The Zonal Audit Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all audit activities within a designated geographical zone. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, identifying potential risks, and recommending improvements to internal controls and operational efficiency. The Zonal Audit Manager will lead a team of auditors, provide strategic direction, and report findings to senior management.
- Develop, implement, and manage the annual audit plan for the assigned zone, aligning with corporate objectives and risk assessments.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of internal auditors, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality audit execution.
- Conduct comprehensive financial, operational, and compliance audits across various business units and locations within the zone.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems, risk management processes, and governance frameworks.
- Identify areas of non-compliance, operational inefficiencies, potential fraud, and control weaknesses, providing constructive recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely audit reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and proposed action plans for remediation.
- Present audit findings and recommendations to zonal management, senior leadership, and relevant stakeholders, facilitating discussions and agreement on corrective actions.
- Monitor the implementation of agreed-upon corrective actions and conduct follow-up audits to ensure effective resolution of identified issues.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and new auditing standards to continuously enhance audit methodologies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, including finance, operations, and legal, to foster a strong culture of control and compliance.
- Manage audit resources and budget effectively within the zone, ensuring optimal utilization and cost-efficiency.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall internal audit function, including methodology development, tool selection, and process enhancements.
