Job Title: Junior Safety Supervisor
Role Overview
We are looking for an alert and field-driven Junior Safety Supervisor with a minimum of 2 years of practical experience to join our project site in Hyderabad.
You will serve as the primary eyes and ears on the ground, working under the guidance of the Senior Safety Engineer to enforce daily compliance, deliver toolbox talks, and maintain a hazard-free work environment on the construction floor.
Eligibility Criteria
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of continuous, practical field experience as a safety supervisor on construction or industrial project sites. (Freshers will not be considered).
- Education: Graduate in any stream, or a Diploma/Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
- Safety Certification: Must possess a recognized certification in safety (e.g., a 1-year Diploma in Industrial Safety, IOSH, or equivalent baseline EHS training).
- Location: Hyderabad (Project Site)
Key ResponsibilitiesGround Enforcement & Hazard Control
- Maintain a constant field presence to ensure 100% compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regulations (helmets, safety shoes, high-visibility jackets, and full-body harnesses).
- Routinely check site edges, open excavations, and shafts to ensure proper hard-barricading, caution taping, and safety signage are intact.
- Monitor high-risk tasks—such as shifting materials, shuttering, scaffolding erection, and working at height—stopping unsafe acts immediately and correcting the behavior on-site.
Permits & Routine Checks
- Physically verify that a valid Permit to Work (PTW) is active and displayed at the work location before any critical activity begins.
- Conduct daily inspections of tools and tackles, power distribution boards (DBs), and ladders used by sub-contractors to ensure they are free from defects.
- Oversee site housekeeping, ensuring walkways, emergency exits, and material stacking zones are kept clear of debris.
Labor Communication & Training
- Conduct mandatory daily morning Toolbox Talks (TBT) for different trade teams, focusing on the specific hazards of that day’s schedule.
- Deliver safety inductions to newly mobilized labor groups and maintain an accurate onboarding log.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain the daily site safety log book, near-miss registers, and PPE distribution records.
- Report all daily observations, minor injuries, or near-misses promptly to the Senior Safety Engineer with photographic evidence where necessary.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Languages: Strong conversational fluency in Telugu is highly preferred to effectively direct, instruct, and manage the local labor workforce; working knowledge of Hindi or English is required for reporting.
- Technical Awareness: Clear understanding of core construction hazards (fall hazards, electrical safety, mechanical rigging).
- Assertive communication style with the ability to firmly enforce safety rules among stubborn sub-contractor crews.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
