Job description:
Incoming Quality Control (IQC)
- Inspect incoming raw materials and bought-out components.
- Verify materials as per approved specifications and drawings.
- Coordinate with suppliers for quality-related issues.
- Maintain incoming inspection reports and records.
In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)
- Conduct regular inspections during injection moulding and assembly processes.
- Ensure products meet dimensional, visual, and functional quality standards.
- Monitor production quality and identify process deviations.
- Implement corrective actions to reduce defects and improve productivity.
Final Quality Control (FQC)
- Perform final inspection before dispatch.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional testing.
- Ensure only approved products are released for shipment.
- Prepare final inspection reports.
Product Testing
- Carry out routine electrical and mechanical tests.
- Perform:
- Contact Resistance Test
- Insulation Resistance Test
- High Voltage Test
- Endurance Test
- Temperature Rise Test (if applicable)
- Verify compliance with BIS and customer specifications.
Documentation
- Maintain inspection reports, NCRs, CAPA reports, and quality records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
- Maintain calibration records of measuring instruments.
- Support ISO 9001 and BIS documentation.
Process Improvement
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using 7 QC Tools.
- Implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
- Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor rejection trends and recommend preventive actions.
Customer & Supplier Quality
- Handle customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality issues.
- Conduct supplier quality evaluations when required.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of IQC, IPQC, and FQC
- Experience in electrical switch manufacturing is preferred
- Understanding of BIS standards and electrical product testing
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone Diagram)
- CAPA, NCR Management
- Knowledge of 7 QC Tools
- Basic knowledge of SPC, FMEA, PPAP, and MSA
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and reporting skills
