Job Description (JD) – Medical Social Worker (MSW)

As per the Community Medicine teaching, field practice, and community outreach requirements followed under MUHS and NMC guidelines, the Medical Social Worker plays a key role in community-based health activities, health education, surveys, family studies, and implementation of national health programs.
Qualification
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a recognized University.
- Experience in Community Health, Public Health, Hospital Social Work, or NGO sector preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct community surveys, family studies, and socio-economic assessments.
- Assist in Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) and Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC) activities.
- Organize health education, awareness programs, and community outreach camps.
- Support implementation of National Health Programmes and public health initiatives.
- Coordinate with local authorities, NGOs, ASHA workers, and community leaders.
- Provide counseling and social support to patients and families.
- Assist faculty in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities, field visits, and research projects.
- Maintain community health records, reports, and documentation.
- Participate in epidemiological surveys and health-related research activities.
- Mobilize community participation for preventive and promotive health programs.
Mandatory Requirement:
Own bike and valid driving license are mandatory for fieldwork and community outreach activities.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
