About the Job Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Engineering Supervisor with 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, piping, fluid systems, cooling systems, or a similar industry.
This role combines solutions engineering, customer project management, NPDI, hands-on design, and team supervision. The position will support custom TCS/SFN projects from quotation and concept development through detailed design, production, testing, and delivery.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers, offering management, suppliers, manufacturing, and global engineering teams. The role requires hands-on use of CAD, PLM, configuration tools, and Vertiv engineering systems. The position may also supervise engineers and designers based on project and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with customers and offering management to define system requirements, design criteria, interfaces, and constraints.
- Develop technical solutions for TCS/SFN and related liquid cooling projects.
- Manage customer projects from quotation through design, production, testing, delivery, and closeout.
- Create concept layouts for piping, manifolds, valves, hoses, clamps, fittings, and related components.
- Use and improve layout, configuration, and quoting tools to support faster and more accurate proposals.
- Convert concept layouts into manufacturable and production-ready designs.
- Perform hands-on design work using Creo and other Vertiv engineering systems.
- Create and review 3D models, assemblies, layouts, drawings, routing plans, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Use tools such as PTC Creo, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit MEP, SpaceClaim, or similar software for concept development and customer reviews.
- Manage project scope, schedule, risks, technical actions, and customer communication.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and testing teams.
- Work with suppliers to confirm manufacturability, cost, quality, and lead time.
- Support prototype builds, design reviews, FAT, SAT, and technical issue resolution.
- Ensure systems meet pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, cleanliness, and quality requirements.
- Manage design release, BOM creation, documentation, and engineering changes in PLM systems such as Oracle PD Cloud and Windchill.
- Perform or review pipe sizing, pressure-drop calculations, system balancing, valve Cv selection, and component selection.
- Support NPDI and Stage-Gate activities for new products, modules, and standard solutions.
- Capture lessons learned and improve design standards, tools, and reusable modules.
- Supervise or coordinate engineers and designers supporting customer and NPDI projects.
- Assign work, review technical outputs, and support team development and workload planning.
