You’ll make a difference by:

Collaborate with the Sales team to understand customer requirements, project specifications, and business needs.

Design complex fire alarm and life safety systems for new and existing facilities.

Develop system layouts, electrical drawings, control panel layouts, product schedules, and fire system device configurations.

Interpret and design sequences of operation to determine hardware and control logic requirements.
-
Ensure fire system designs comply with applicable fire codes, standards, and jurisdictional regulations.

Analyze project plans, construction specifications, contracts, and codes to identify project requirements and risks.

Select appropriate materials and products for project execution.

Recommend design improvements, productivity enhancements, and cost reduction opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and project profitability.

Coordinate with Sales and Project Management teams to ensure scope, specifications, and schematics align with customer expectations.

Participate in sales-to-operations turnover meetings and review estimate accuracy and system layouts.

Perform quality assurance and peer reviews of engineering documentation.

Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to engineering team members.

Communicate regularly with customers, contractors, consulting engineers, project managers, and internal stakeholders.
Your success is grounded in:

Education
-
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Experience
-
2 to 5 years of experience designing complex Fire Protection and Fire Alarm Systems.

Demonstrated experience with Smoke Control Systems, VESDA, Suppression Systems, and Areas of Refuge.

Certifications
-
NICET Level II certification required.

Technical Skills
-
Strong knowledge of fire and life safety codes and their application in system design.

Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams and construction drawings.

Proficiency in AutoCAD 2021.

Knowledge of fire alarm system architecture, control panels, devices, and system integration.
