Job Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Planning Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes that support strategic decision-making across the company. You will collaborate closely with various department heads to analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to optimize profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Develop, maintain, and update complex financial models to forecast quarterly and annual revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Coordinate the annual budgeting process with department heads. Perform monthly variance analysis comparing actual performance against budgets/forecasts, highlighting key drivers.
- Strategic Planning: Assist leadership in long-term strategic planning, scenario analysis, and evaluating business expansion or investment opportunities.
- Management Reporting: Prepare clear, concise monthly and quarterly financial review presentations and dashboards for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting processes, automate data collection, and improve the accuracy of financial data.
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor industry trends, macroeconomic factors, and competitor performance to provide relevant context for internal financial projections.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA, CFA, or CPA designation is highly preferred.
- Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, or investment banking.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macros, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas) and financial modeling techniques.
- Experience with financial ERP systems (e.g., ZOHO Books, Oracle, NetSuite) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a major plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
