Position: Design Engineer
Department: Engineering / Design
Reports To: Production Manager
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and products based on customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo.
- Create manufacturing drawings, BOM (Bill of Materials), and technical documents.
- Review and modify existing designs to improve quality, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and purchase departments for smooth project execution.
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes.
- Conduct design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
- Support troubleshooting and implement design improvements based on production feedback.
- Maintain proper records of design revisions, drawings, and project documents.
Skills & Requirements:
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA, etc.).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, CNC, VMC, fabrication, and assembly.
- Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and material properties.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Experience:
- 2 to 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
