Job Summary:
The AutoCAD Operator (Cabling Design) is responsible for preparing detailed 2D drawings, layouts, and schematics for Atructured cabling system and ELV systems including data, voice, fiber optic, CCTV Surveillance, cable basket tray and cable pathways. The role involves converting design concepts into precise technical drawings that support the implementation of end-to-end cabling solutions in data centers, offices, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and modifyAutoCAD drawings for cabling layouts, including floor plans, cable routing, containment systems, and rack elevations.
- Developschematic diagramsfor copper and fiber optic cabling, patch panels, and termination details.
- Coordinate withdesign engineers, presales teams, and project managersto ensure drawings match project scope and client requirements.
- Maintainaccurate as-built drawingsreflecting on-site implementations and revisions.
- Preparedetailed labeling plans, cable schedules, and BOM (Bill of Materials) support documents.
- Ensureadherence to industry standardssuch as TIA/EIA, BICSI, and ISO/IEC for structured cabling design.
- IntegrateMEP and architectural layoutsfor coordination and clash-free design.
- Support indesign documentation, proposal drawings, and project submittals.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient inAutoCAD (2D drafting); knowledge ofVisio or Revitis advantageous.
- Ability toread and interpret architectural, electrical, and MEP drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge oflow-voltage systems (CCTV, access control, public address)is a plus.
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma / ITI inElectrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineeringor equivalent technical field.
- Certification inAutoCADorStructured Cabling Design (BICSI or equivalent)preferred.
