Job description Team Lead and Architect - FE Digital Control
Vacancy: At L&T EPS Industrial R and D- Bengaluru
Position Responsibilities: This role is to lead Firmware development for power converters Design, which essentially includes Firmware architecture development as modular and scalable firmware platform for projects executed within L&T EPS Industrial R and D or in collaboration with its co- partners in various types of Power electronics products development This role demonstrates excellent technical expertise and should take higher accountability in overall product development/adaptation covering with focus on firmware and demonstrating the adherence to the various global standards for different types of chargers for e mobility application. Mentoring firmware team and establish process for firmware, development, release and version tacking. The profile requires adherence to L&T process and contribution to the development of L&T process specific to power electronics product firmware development. Ability of working with cross functional teams including product management and customer facing team is a must. A good understanding of the application and the applicable global standards for e mobility sub systems is very important. Job Description Key activities include but not limited are:
1. Accountable and owner of technical decisions during firmware development
2. Write and own the firmware requirements document
3. Evaluate and suggest suitable Architecture which is modular and scalable which can be used as libraries /functions and thus increases reuses across L&T product.
4. Use technical capability and significant problem-solving analysis to establish most effective solution for complex problems and suggest /use appropriate tools for the same.
5. Work as interface between hardware, manufacturing, testing and firmware team and influence technical decisions
6. Analyse and identify the root cause(s) of the problems and develop alternatives to solve the problems
7. A good knowledge on digital control of power converters, state machine, communication protocols like CAN, SPI, UART & USB at driver and application layer is a must
8. Lead the technical review meetings
9. Make significant technical contributions essential to the successful completion of projects
10. Focus on automation of testing and help/guide validation/ manufacturing team for automating the test.
11. Work with Semiconductor companies to select the most optimum/ best fit for controllers & Digital ICs for the products.
12. Perform "Gap Analysis" and arrive at new solutions, tools, process and automations to reduce cost where applicable for firmware development.
13. Demonstrating role model behaviour in technical excellence. Motivate team towards innovation and IP creation
14. Imbibe and role model L&T behaviours and value system 15. Part of Key firmware technical expert pool within L&T.
Basic Candidate Qualifications:
1. BE/BTech/MTech/PhD in Power Electronics or Electronics & Communication Engineering / Embedded system or equivalent
2. • Minimum of 12 Years of overall end to end hands on design experience and expertise in developing firmware for power electronics products
Skills Requirement
1. Should have thorough knowledge and hands on experience in multiple controller platforms, like TI, Micro-chip/STM etc.
2. Should define the architecture and maintain documentation flow for the various projects
3. Design test plan for manufacturing.
4. Help manufacturing automation team for implementing the test plan in ATE.
5. Should have good understanding of basic protocols like UART, CAN, SPI, I2C tec.
6. Should have good experience with Graphical LCD interface.
7. Good understanding of digital circuits for controller interface, like, ADC scaling, Opmaps, Multiplexers etc.
8. Should have thorough knowledge of firmware development using embedded C/ RTOS. The good knowledge of digital control of power converters and communication protocols is a must.
9. Good knowledge and understanding of IoT and cloud connectivity is a must to have
10. Experience of meeting coding standards like MISRA, Autosaur are desirable skills.
