We are looking for an experienced and business-oriented Head – Human Resources to lead the complete HR function for a well-established manufacturing organization based in Navi Mumbai.
The position will report directly to the Managing Director and will play a critical role in aligning people strategy with business objectives, strengthening organizational capability, driving a high-performance culture and building robust HR systems and processes.
The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to manufacturing environments, with demonstrated experience across strategic HR, industrial relations, talent management, organization development, performance management and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization's HR strategy in alignment with business goals and the MD's vision.
- Act as a strategic HR business partner to the MD and senior leadership team.
- Translate business priorities into effective people, organization and capability strategies.
- Provide leadership on organizational effectiveness, culture and workforce planning.
2. Talent & Leadership Development
- Build a strong leadership pipeline and succession planning framework.
- Develop strategies for attracting, retaining and developing critical talent.
- Identify capability gaps and implement appropriate learning and development initiatives.
- Drive leadership development and managerial effectiveness across the organization.
3. Performance Management
- Strengthen the organization's performance management framework.
- Establish effective KRAs, KPIs and goal-setting mechanisms across functions.
- Drive a performance-oriented culture with clear accountability and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with business leaders to improve employee productivity and performance.
4. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
- Provide strategic leadership on employee relations and industrial relations.
- Manage relationships with workmen, unions and employee representatives where applicable.
- Ensure a healthy and productive workplace environment.
- Proactively identify and resolve employee relations issues.
5. HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee the complete HR function including manpower planning, recruitment, compensation, employee engagement, HR operations and statutory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and regulations.
- Strengthen HR policies, systems, processes and governance.
- Introduce HR analytics and management dashboards for informed decision-making.
6. Organization Development & Transformation
- Lead HR transformation initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Review organizational structures and ensure appropriate role clarity and accountability.
- Drive change management initiatives arising from business growth, restructuring or transformation.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional management.
7. Compensation & Workforce Planning
- Develop and review compensation structures, salary benchmarking and incentive systems.
- Drive manpower budgeting and workforce productivity initiatives.
- Ensure compensation practices support attraction, retention and performance.
8. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Develop initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention and organizational culture.
- Build strong communication mechanisms between management and employees.
- Promote values, ethics, accountability and professional work practices.
Candidate Profile
- Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources / Personnel Management / Industrial Relations / Business Management from a reputed institution.
- 20+ years of overall HR experience, preferably with substantial experience in manufacturing organizations.
- Proven experience in a senior HR leadership / Head HR / CHRO / HR Director role.
- Strong exposure to both strategic HR and manufacturing/industrial HR.
- Experience working directly with CEOs, MDs, promoters or senior management.
- Strong understanding of Industrial Relations, labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in performance management, leadership development, succession planning and organization development.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect HR initiatives with business outcomes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
- Should be comfortable working in a dynamic, professionally managed manufacturing environment.
Preferred Background
Candidates from established manufacturing, engineering, automotive, industrial products, chemicals, consumer products, heavy engineering or similar sectors would be preferred.
Experience in organizations undergoing professionalization, transformation, expansion or organizational restructuring will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹4,000,000.00 - ₹4,500,000.00 per year
