Location: Bus route starting from Vytilla or Thripunithura

Role Summary
Asoka World School is looking for a responsible, caring, alert, and disciplined Bus Ayah / Support Staff to ensure the safety, comfort, and proper supervision of students during school bus transportation. The candidate will be responsible for assisting children while boarding, travelling, and getting down from the school bus, and must ensure that every child is handled with care, patience, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students safely while boarding and getting down from the school bus.
- Ensure that students are seated properly before the bus starts moving.
- Maintain discipline and calm behaviour among students inside the bus.
- Pay special attention to small children and ensure they are handed over only to authorised parents/guardians.
- Help students carry bags when required, especially younger children.
- Ensure no child is left unattended inside the bus after the route is completed.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic order inside the bus.
- Support the driver in ensuring safe pickup and drop-off procedures.
- Inform the school immediately in case of delays, student issues, parent concerns, safety concerns, or emergencies.
- Speak politely and respectfully with parents, students, drivers, and school staff.
- Follow the school’s transport rules, child safety policies, and reporting procedures strictly.
- Be punctual and report at the assigned bus starting point on time every working day.
- Support school transport staff during special routes, events, trips, or schedule changes when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience as a school bus ayah, helper, caregiver, or support staff will be an advantage.
- Must be caring, patient, alert, and responsible.
- Should be able to communicate politely with children and parents.
- Must be physically fit to assist children while boarding and getting down.
- Should be punctual, disciplined, and dependable.
- Must be willing to start duty from Vytilla or Thripunithura bus starting point.
- Basic knowledge of Malayalam is required; basic English will be an added advantage.
Behavioural Expectations
- Must treat every child with care, dignity, and patience.
- No shouting, harsh language, gossip, or negative behaviour will be tolerated.
- Must maintain confidentiality regarding students, parents, and school matters.
- Must follow instructions from the Transport In-charge, Principal, and school management.
- Must maintain neat personal appearance and follow school grooming standards.
Child Safety Expectations
The candidate must understand that school transport involves responsibility for children’s safety. Negligence, careless behaviour, unauthorised handing over of children, leaving children unattended, or rude conduct with parents/students will be treated seriously by the school.

The selected candidate must be available to join the school bus route starting from:
Option 1: Vytilla
Option 2: Thripunithura
Final route allocation will be decided by the school based on transport requirements.
