Job Summary
Delhi Delight is seeking a proactive and commercially driven Canteen Supervisor to manage day-to-day cafeteria operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising billing operations, managing inventory through software systems, ensuring customer satisfaction, and actively driving sales growth within the canteen.
This role requires strong operational discipline combined with customer-facing confidence and basic business acumen.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Billing Management
- Manage electronic billing system (POS) efficiently.
- Ensure accurate daily sales recording and cash reconciliation.
- Generate daily sales reports and share with management.
- Handle digital payments (UPI, cards, wallet systems).
2. Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain real-time inventory records using software.
- Track daily consumption and prevent stock leakage.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
- Monitor wastage and implement cost-control measures.
- Conduct weekly physical stock verification.
3. Customer Interaction & Service Excellence
- Act as the face of the canteen and maintain a professional presence.
- Address customer queries and resolve complaints promptly.
- Maintain service speed, hygiene standards, and display quality.
- Build rapport with students, staff, and institutional authorities.
4. Sales & Revenue Growth
- Monitor slow-moving and fast-selling items.
- Suggest combo offers, promotions, and upselling strategies.
- Implement display merchandising to improve impulse buying.
- Gather customer feedback and recommend menu improvements.
- Work on monthly sales growth targets.
5. Team Supervision
- Supervise counter staff and service personnel.
- Ensure discipline, uniform compliance, and hygiene standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen team for stock and demand alignment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in cafeteria, restaurant, or institutional food service.
- Knowledge of electronic billing/POS systems.
- Experience using inventory management software.
- Strong communication skills (Hindi & basic English).
- Basic understanding of sales promotion techniques.
- Ability to manage cash, stock, and staff responsibly.
