Job Summary
The Tool Room Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring tool room activities to ensure the timely availability, maintenance, repair, and inventory control of production tools, dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools. The role supports uninterrupted production operations, cost control, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate issuance, receipt, and tracking of tools, dies, molds, fixtures, and gauges.
- Maintain tool inventory records and tool life monitoring systems.
- Ensure timely availability of tools required for production schedules.
- Monitor tool utilization and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Schedule preventive maintenance of tooling and equipment.
- Coordinate tool repairs, modifications, and refurbishment activities.
- Follow up with internal teams and external vendors regarding tooling repairs.
- Maintain maintenance history records for all tools.
Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering departments regarding tooling requirements.
- Support new product development activities by arranging required tooling.
- Track tooling readiness for production launches and engineering changes.
- Assist in planning tool room workload and priorities.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain tooling records, calibration records, maintenance logs, and inventory databases.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly tool room performance reports.
- Update tooling status reports and downtime analysis reports.
- Ensure documentation complies with company quality systems.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Tool Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in a tool room, maintenance, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in automotive component manufacturing preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance systems.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and tooling specifications.
- Knowledge of quality systems such as IATF 16949 and ISO standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and reporting tools.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
