Role Summary
The Head of Cross‑Platform Services is accountable for the design, delivery, and continuous optimisation of core enterprise platforms and services that enable scalable, automated, and well‑governed digital operations.
The role provides strategic and operational leadership across four critical cross‑platform capability areas: ServiceNow Platform, Workflow & Automation, Non‑SAP Integration, and API Services.
This position ensures that cross‑platform services are reliable, secure, and reusable, enabling product teams and business functions to integrate, automate, and scale efficiently while maintaining strong governance, resilience, and user experience.
Key responsibilities
Own the end‑to‑end strategy, roadmap, and operational performance of cross‑platform services, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business priorities.
Lead and develop four specialist cross‑platform service teams:
-
ServiceNow Platform – platform engineering, lifecycle management, and core workflow enablement.
-
Workflow & Automation – enterprise automation, orchestration, and low‑code/no‑code enablement.
-
Non‑SAP Integration – integration patterns, middleware, and data exchange across non‑ERP systems.
-
API Services – API design standards, lifecycle management, reuse, and developer enablement.
Establish cross‑platform standards, service models, and guardrails that balance speed of delivery with security, resilience, and compliance.
Drive a reuse‑first, platform‑led approach to integration and automation, reducing duplication and technical debt.
Partner closely with Architecture, Security, Product, Service Management, and Engineering teams to ensure coherent cross‑platform design and consumption.
Ensure services are operationally sound, with appropriate monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
Embed workflow‑ and automation‑led thinking across platforms to improve efficiency and user experience.
Manage vendors and strategic partners supporting cross‑platform services, ensuring value, performance, and contractual alignment.
Provide clear executive‑level reporting on cross‑platform service health, adoption, risk, and value delivered.
About you
Essential
Proven experience leading cross‑platform, enterprise‑scale services in a complex, global environment.
Strong understanding of ServiceNow platforms, workflow orchestration, and enterprise integration patterns.
Experience operating API‑led and event‑driven architectures at scale.
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with operational accountability.
Strong stakeholder management skills across technology, security, and business teams.
Experience establishing platform standards and governance without slowing delivery.
Comfortable operating in a matrixed, multi‑vendor environment.
Preferred
Background in Digital & Technology, Platform Engineering, or Enterprise Architecture.
Experience with low‑code/no‑code automation platforms and citizen‑developer enablement.
Familiarity with ITSM, ITIL, and service assurance in a platform‑led organisation.
Experience driving cross‑platform reuse and adoption over bespoke solutions.
