- Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA): Inspect raw materials (castings, forgings, bars), bought-out components (mechanical seals, bearings, impellers, motors), and packaging materials. Verify material test certificates and dimensions against supplier drawings.
- In-Process Inspection: Conduct routine checks on the production floor at various stages of machining and assembly (e.g., verifying shaft run-out, body clearances, and rotor balancing).
- Functional Testing: Set up and monitor pump testing rigs to ensure assembled pumps meet flow rate, head, pressure, vibration, and noise level requirements. [1]
- Final Inspection: Approve finished pumps before dispatch. Ensure proper painting, nameplate details, and packaging comply with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Use of Measuring Instruments: Operate and handle precision measurement tools such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators. Ensure all tools are calibrated before use.
- Non-Conformance Management: Document and tag defective parts. Initiate Material Rejection Reports (MRRs) and collaborate with production to trace the root cause of defects.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, traceable inspection records, quality checklists, and testing metrics in the company’s quality management database.
