Job Summary
A transportation fleet maintenance incharge is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of a company's transportation fleet.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Submitting Report of availability of maintenance vehicles from time to time.
2. Authorizing payments of spare part vendors.
3. Inventory management (Purchase / used data )
4. Prepare stock report of spare parts and maintenance on daily basis.
5. Driver Management :Duty of the fleet manager for many companies is to manage the drivers. This includes hiring, training, and scheduling,
6. Tracking fleet metrics : Fleet managers must then create reports using the metrics obtained from vehicle tracking. These reports list a fleet's key performance indicators (KPIs). Fleet reporting and analysis. On the back of vehicle tracking, fleet managers must then turn the metrics generated into reports.
7. Vehicle inspection and maintenance : Vehicle servicing and inspection and scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency, among other duties. Maintaining thorough records on vehicle inspections, maintenance activities, and registrations
8.Ensuring driver safety
9. Comply with local laws and regulations : Ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Develop and maintain systems and processes for scheduling fleet vehicles
10. Monitor vehicle performance and fuel consumption.
Requirements :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management.
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations with good command in MS-Excel.
Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Experience in budget management and cost control.
