Job Profile: Site Engineer – Quality Control (QC)

Reporting To: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager / Sr. Engineer – QC
Location: Project Site- Kalyan
1. Position Overview
The Site Engineer – QC is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality of construction activities at
site. The role involves conducting inspections, material testing, verifying workmanship, maintaining
QA/QC documentation, and ensuring that all work meets IS codes, approved drawings, and company
standards.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Quality Monitoring & Inspection
Conduct daily inspections of construction work (shuttering, reinforcement, concrete, blockwork,
plaster, finishing).
Verify that work is executed as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and method
statements.
Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) when deviations are observed and follow up for
corrective actions.
B. Material Testing & Verification
Inspect incoming materials—cement, steel, aggregates, blocks, tiles, waterproofing materials,
etc.
Coordinate with third-party labs for material testing (cube test, steel test, slump test, etc.).
Ensure materials are approved before use and reject non-conforming materials.
C. Documentation & Record Keeping
Maintain QA/QC records: checklists, inspection reports, test reports, IRs (Inspection Requests).
Update quality logs and ensure timely submission of reports to management.
Maintain proper documentation for RERA, audits, and project handover.
D. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain quality standards.
Attend quality review meetings and provide updates on site quality issues.
Communicate corrective/preventive actions to ensure compliance.
E. Compliance with Standards
Ensure construction workmanship meets IS codes, company specifications, and approved quality
plans.
Oversee quality compliance for MEP, structural, architectural, and finishing activities.
Assist in implementing Quality Management Systems (QMS) at site.
F. Safety & Preventive Measures
Ensure safety practices are followed during QC inspections.
Identify potential quality risks and suggest preventive measures.
Support site safety team during audits and inspections.
G. Handover & Final Quality Checks
Participate in snag list preparation and ensure completion of rectification works.
Conduct final quality inspections during handover stage.
Ensure workmanship is of high standard before unit or project possession.
3. Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality standards.
Familiar with IS codes related to civil engineering and construction.
Ability to read and interpret drawings (structural, architectural, MEP).
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong documentation skills and knowledge of checklists/QC formats.
Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of QA/QC software is an advantage.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
4. Qualifications & Experience
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
5–10 years of experience in Quality Control at residential or commercial real estate projects.
Experience in high-rise construction projects is preferred.
Knowledge of material testing and third-party lab coordination.
