Job Summary
The Audiometrist is responsible for conducting hearing assessments, operating audiometric equipment, assisting in the diagnosis of hearing loss, and supporting patients with hearing aid selection and fitting. The role involves working closely with ENT specialists and audiologists to ensure accurate hearing evaluation and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and other hearing tests.
Operate and maintain audiometric equipment.
Record and analyse patient hearing test results.
Assist in hearing aid selection, fitting, and adjustments.
Educate patients on hearing aid usage, care, and maintenance.
Maintain patient records and test documentation.
Ensure calibration and hygiene of audiology equipment.
Coordinate with Otolaryngology (ENT) specialists for further diagnosis when required.
Provide patient counselling regarding hearing health.
Follow clinic/hospital protocols and safety standards.
Qualifications
BASLP, MASLP
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in **Audiology, Hearing Language & Speech, or related field.
Certification or training in audiometry.
Skills Required
Knowledge of hearing assessment techniques
Ability to operate audiometric instruments
Good patient communication skills
Attention to detail and documentation
Basic troubleshooting of hearing devices
