Job Summary
The Electrical Technician cum Plumber will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, equipment’s and plumbing works in the hospital. This includes lighting, power distribution, switchgear, motors, UPS, patient-care critical circuits, and general building services electrical infrastructure and also willing to do plumbing works. Ensuring safety, reliability and compliance with applicable codes and hospital standards is key.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive maintenance, corrective repairs and routine inspections of all electrical installations (e.g., lighting circuits, power outlets, distribution boards, switchgears, lighting control systems, motors, UPS systems).
- Diagnose electrical faults and malfunctions, perform troubleshooting and repair work in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, single line diagrams, wiring layouts.
- Install new equipment or systems, wiring, conduit work, control panels, switchgear modifications, as required for expansion or refurbishment.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant regulations, standards, safety practices (e.g., national/ local electrical codes, hospital safety standards).
- Participate in emergency call-outs, standby duties if required (hospital being 24/7).
- Support the facility’s quality, safety and compliance initiatives — e.g., safety inspections, tag & lock out procedures, electrical safety audits.
- Cut, assemble, and join pipes (copper, PVC, etc.), install fixtures (sinks, toilets, water heaters), and fix leaks or blockages
Qualifications & Experience
- ITI in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics / Electrical Technology (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance/installation (preferably in a large facility, hospital or industrial environment).
- Valid Electrical supervision/competency certificate (if applicable under Kerala rules).
- Strong hands-on skills with tools and electrical testing equipment (multimeter, meggers, clamp meter, etc).
- Ability to read & interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of safety standards, hazard awareness, and ability to follow lockout-tagout procedures.
- Good communication skills, ability to coordinate with team members and other departments.
- Willing to work flexible hours (including night/holiday shifts) if required for hospital operations.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
