About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented General Manager – Distribution Projects to lead the overall execution and management of Power Distribution EPC Projects.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in 11 kV / 33 kV distribution networks, HT/LT lines, substations, feeder segregation, distribution transformer installation, metering, system strengthening, RDSS and other Government/DISCOM projects.
The candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across multiple projects, ensuring timely execution, cost control, quality, safety, commercial performance, client satisfaction, and successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for Power Distribution EPC Projects from mobilization to completion and handover.
- Take complete responsibility for project execution, progress, quality, cost, safety, and contractual compliance.
- Lead multiple project teams and sites simultaneously and ensure achievement of project milestones.
- Develop and implement project execution strategies, schedules, manpower plans, material plans, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress against approved BOQ, milestones, DPR, PERT/CPM schedules, and contractual timelines.
- Coordinate with State DISCOMs, Electricity Distribution Companies, Government Departments, consultants, and other statutory authorities.
- Lead regular project review meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Monitor execution of 11 kV / 33 kV HT Lines, LT Lines, AB Cables, UG Cables, Distribution Transformers, RMUs, feeder works, substations, poles, conductors, and associated distribution infrastructure.
- Ensure timely execution of new substations, augmentation works, feeder segregation, system strengthening, network improvement, and loss-reduction works.
- Handle projects under RDSS, IPDS, DDUGJY, SAUBHAGYA, system strengthening, electrification, and other Government/DISCOM schemes.
- Ensure proper coordination between engineering, procurement, stores, construction, testing & commissioning, billing, finance, and site teams.
- Ensure timely availability of materials, manpower, machinery, vehicles, contractors, and other project resources.
- Monitor RA Bills, measurement books, BOQ reconciliation, quantity variation, extra items, deviations, and client billing.
- Coordinate with Commercial and Contracts teams for claims, variations, EOT, LD matters, contractual correspondence, and dispute resolution.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, profitability, cash flow, and overall commercial performance.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, statutory regulations, and client guidelines.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to project schedules and quality requirements.
- Review DPRs, MIS, monthly progress reports, project dashboards, and management reports.
- Conduct regular site visits and review project performance, critical issues, and corrective actions.
- Resolve technical, commercial, operational, manpower, material, contractor, and client-related issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior officials of DISCOMs, consultants, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Guide, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Deputy Project Managers, Site Engineers, Planning Engineers, Billing Engineers, QA/QC teams, and other project personnel.
- Ensure proper project documentation, testing, commissioning, completion certificates, and final handover.
- Drive productivity, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and timely project completion.

Eligibility & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 15–20+ years of relevant experience in Power Distribution / Electrical EPC Projects.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior project management / leadership position.
- Strong experience in managing large-scale distribution projects for Government DISCOMs / Power Utilities.
- Candidates with experience in RDSS and other Government-sponsored power distribution schemes will be highly preferred.
- Proven experience in handling multiple projects, locations, and large project teams.
- Strong understanding of project contracts, commercial management, billing, claims, and client coordination.
- Experience in managing project budgets, profitability, resources, and execution timelines.
- Strong track record of successfully completing power distribution EPC projects.
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹110,000.00 per month
