Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented BMS Technician to join our engineering and maintenance team in Mumbai. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Building Management System (BMS) and associated Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring optimal energy efficiency, climate control, and facility safety across the premises.
Key Responsibilities
- System Monitoring & Control: Continuously monitor the BMS workstation to ensure all HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical subsystems are operating within designated parameters.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and rectify faults in BMS hardware and software, including controllers, DDC (Direct Digital Control) panels, sensors, actuators, and network communication loops.
- Alarms & Incident Response: Respond immediately to system alarms, isolate critical technical issues, and coordinate with the maintenance team to execute swift resolutions.
- Energy Management: Analyze system data and trends to optimize plant operations, schedule equipment runs efficiently, and minimize overall energy consumption.
- Calibration & Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine calibration of field sensors (temperature, pressure, humidity) and execute scheduled preventive maintenance plans for all automation infrastructure.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed logs of system faults, changes in control strategies, operational backups, and energy usage metrics.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education (Any one of the following):
- BE / B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- ITI in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrician trades.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of proven experience as a BMS Technician handling commercial buildings, data centers, or industrial complexes.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Hands-on experience with major BMS platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Johnson Controls).
- Good understanding of standard communication protocols like BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
- Strong familiarity with integrated systems like Chillers, AHUs, VAVs, and electrical panels (VFDs, Energy Meters).
- Location: Must be based in or willing to commute within Mumbai.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work in rotating shifts, strong problem-solving abilities, and comfortable working under pressure during system emergencies.
