Summary:
The Inventory Manager for our cosmetics division will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end Inventory operations, ensuring efficient procurement, production, inventory management, and distribution of cosmetic products. This role will involve strategic planning, supplier management, logistics coordination, and team leadership to meet business goals while maintaining high product quality and timely delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement Inventory strategies aligned with business objectives, considering market trends, demand forecasts, and company growth plans.
- Procurement and Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to secure high-quality materials, negotiate contracts, monitor supplier performance, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels to minimize stockouts and overstock situations, employing inventory control techniques and systems to maximize efficiency. Maintain inventory data and regularly check with the Warehouse on any gaps.
- Production Coordination & Quality Control: Collaborate with production teams to streamline manufacturing processes, ensuring timely production schedules and maintaining quality standards.
- Logistics and Distribution: Manage transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure on-time delivery of products while optimizing logistics costs.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks within the Inventory and implement strategies to mitigate disruptions, such as developing contingency plans and alternative sourcing options.
- Performance Analysis: Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics to evaluate Inventory performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a cross-functional Inventory team, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their performance and ensure goal attainment.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and ethical practices throughout the Inventory process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (at least 4-5 years) in Inventory management within the cosmetics or beauty industry.
- Strong understanding of Inventory processes, procurement strategies, and inventory management techniques.
- Proficiency in inventory requirement prediction using Excel tools.
- Awareness and knowledge in Inventory management software such as Uniware etc
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (labelling, drug license etc) and quality standards in the cosmetics industry.
