Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and creative Social Media Executive to manage and grow the organization's digital presence across various social media platforms. The candidate will be responsible for publishing news content, increasing audience engagement, monitoring trends, and supporting the News Department's digital growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and update social media platforms such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp Channels, and LinkedIn.
- Publish breaking news, articles, videos, reels, and other editorial content in a timely manner.
- Create engaging captions, hashtags, and post descriptions.
- Coordinate with the Editorial, Video, and Design teams for content planning and execution.
- Monitor social media trends, audience behavior, and competitor activities.
- Respond to audience queries, comments, and messages professionally.
- Track and analyze social media performance using analytics tools.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
- Ensure content accuracy and adherence to editorial guidelines.
- Support live coverage of major events, elections, sports, and breaking news.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and content management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Tamil and English.
- Experience in social media analytics and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Canva, Photoshop, or basic graphic design tools is an added advantage.
- Understanding of digital journalism and current affairs.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, Marketing, or any relevant discipline.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in a News Channel, Newspaper, Digital Media, or Online News Portal.
- Strong understanding of news content distribution and audience engagement strategies.
- Creative, proactive, and detail-oriented.
Salary
- As per company standards and candidate experience.
Reporting To: Digital Editor / Social Media Manager / News Editor.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
