Divine Grace Hospital is expanding our Healthcare Excellence Team! We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to specialize in neuro-rehabilitation, with a primary focus on Stroke and Dementia patients.
In this role, you will be instrumental in helping patients regain their independence, manage cognitive decline, and improve their quality of life. You will work within a supportive clinical environment, collaborating closely with our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to design and implement tailored therapy plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Assessment: Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional capabilities to create individualized therapy plans specifically suited for stroke recovery and dementia care.
- Stroke Rehabilitation: Focus on neuroplasticity, upper extremity function, balance, and motor skill recovery to help stroke survivors regain functional mobility.
- Cognitive & Dementia Care: Implement interventions to support memory, problem-solving, and orientation. Modify environments to reduce confusion and enhance safety for dementia patients.
- ADL Training: Work extensively with patients to improve their ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with neurologists, geriatricians, physiotherapists, and nursing staff to ensure a cohesive approach to patient recovery.
- Caregiver Education: Train and educate family members and caregivers on safe transfer techniques, home modifications, and strategies to support the patient’s independence and well-being.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) or Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Both freshers with a strong academic interest in neurology/geriatrics and experienced therapists are welcome.
- Skills: * Deep empathy, patience, and resilience when working with neurologically compromised or cognitively impaired patients.
- Strong clinical reasoning and observational skills.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and their distressed families.
