Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of a Shipping Line Back Office. The ideal candidate should possess sound accounting knowledge, experience in shipping or logistics accounting, and the ability to ensure accurate financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage day-to-day accounting transactions and financial records.
- Prepare and process customer invoices, vendor bills, debit notes, and credit notes.
- Handle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, customer accounts, vendor accounts, and intercompany accounts.
- Verify and process Agent SOA (Statement of Accounts) and ensure timely settlements.
- Monitor vessel-related expenses, port charges, agency fees, and operational costs.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in GST compliance, tax filings, audits, and statutory requirements.
- Track outstanding receivables and coordinate with customers and agents for collections.
- Prepare payment schedules and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with operations, documentation, and commercial departments for accounting-related matters.
RequirementsQualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) / M.Com / Finance.
- Professional qualifications such as CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of accounting experience.
- Prior experience in a Shipping Line, NVOCC, Freight Forwarding, or Logistics industry is preferred.
- Experience in handling Agent SOA, vessel accounting, and shipping-related transactions is desirable.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
