- A Junior Cloud Engineer assists in designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure. Working closely with senior engineers, they focus on provisioning resources, automating deployments, monitoring system performance, and supporting development teams to ensure secure and cost-efficient cloud environments.
- Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Provisioning: Assist in building and maintaining cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- System Monitoring: Set up and manage system logs, dashboards, and alerts to monitor cloud resource utilization and uptime.
- CI/CD Pipeline Support: Help build and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline software releases.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Act as the first line of support to identify, document, and resolve day-to-day cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Automation: Write and update basic automation and deployment scripts using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Essential SkillsCloud Platforms: Foundational knowledge of public cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Scripting: Basic to intermediate proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Shell.
- Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with configuration and IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Containerization: Basic understanding of container tools like Docker and orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical abilities to debug deployment issues and log data.
- Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.
- Certifications: Highly valued entry-level certifications include AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner / Solutions Architect Associate, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Associate Engineer.
- Experience: Typically 0 to 2 years of professional IT experience or relevant cloud internships
