Job Summary
The Injection Molding Machine Maintenance Engineer is responsible for preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to ensure smooth production operations, minimum downtime, and optimum machine performance. The role includes troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of injection molding machines and related equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
- Ensure smooth operation of machines such as injection molding machines, chillers, compressors, hopper dryers, mold temperature controllers, and material handling systems.
- Maintain machine uptime and reduce production downtime through effective maintenance practices.
- Conduct routine inspection and calibration of machines and equipment.
- Coordinate with production and tooling teams for machine setup, mold trials, and process improvements.
- Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown records, and spare parts inventory.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements for efficiency enhancement.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, maintenance SOPs, and statutory compliance.
- Support installation, commissioning, and relocation of new machinery.
- Train machine operators and technicians on basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with vendors/service providers for major repairs and annual maintenance activities.
- Implement TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of injection molding machine operations and maintenance.
- Understanding of hydraulic circuits, PLC systems, electrical panels, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic drawings.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Good communication and team coordination abilities.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and documentation.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 1–8 years of experience in maintenance of injection molding machines in plastic manufacturing or packaging industry.
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
