Junior Infrastructure Engineer - Windows &
Database Focus
Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Infrastructure Engineer to support our on-premise IT operations, with
a dedicated focus on Windows Server environments and database support. You will assist in project delivery,
maintain system health, and leverage Infrastructure as Code methodologies to streamline deployments and
database administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Windows Implementation
Assist in the provisioning, configuration, and deployment of Windows Server environments based on
architectural designs.
Database Support
Perform routine MS SQL database administration, run basic SQL queries, and assist in maintaining database
health and backups.
IIS/.Net Configuration
Experienced with IIS/.Net website configuration (including certificate installs) and troubleshooting.
Vulnerability Management
Assist with OS and middleware vulnerability identification and remediation activities.
IaC & Automation Support
Utilize and maintain existing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and scripts to automate Windows and DB
deployments.
Operational Troubleshooting
Act as an initial point of contact for resolving Windows OS and database-related alerts and performance issues.
Documentation
Create and update technical documentation for Windows configurations, database schemas, and support
procedures.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Operating Systems
Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments.
Databases
Practical experience with relational database concepts, writing SQL queries, and MS SQL administration.
Virtualization
Familiarity managing virtual machines, particularly using VMWare and OpenStack.
Containerization
Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift environments.
Networking Architecture
Familiarity with load balancing concepts, and multi-zone, multi-datacentre environments.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Practical experience using IaC tools (such as Terraform or Ansible) or scripting for deployment automation.
Scripting
Proficiency in PowerShell for automating Windows administrative tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
(cid:127) Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Dynatrace, ELK, or similar).
(cid:127) Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
