Job Summary
The Licensing Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining all statutory licenses, registrations, and regulatory approvals required for hospital operations. The role ensures compliance with applicable healthcare laws, government regulations, and accreditation standards while coordinating with regulatory authorities and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the validity of all hospital licenses, permits, and registrations, and ensure timely renewal.
- Coordinate with government and regulatory authorities for obtaining new licenses and approvals.
- Maintain accurate records of all licensing documents, certificates, and compliance reports.
- Track changes in healthcare regulations and communicate requirements to relevant departments.
- Assist departments in meeting statutory and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Prepare and submit applications, renewal documents, and supporting records within prescribed timelines.
- Support hospital accreditation processes (e.g., NABH, JCI, or other applicable standards).
- Coordinate regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring all required documentation is available.
- Maintain compliance dashboards and renewal calendars.
- Work closely with HR to verify professional licenses and registrations of doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Investigate and resolve licensing-related issues and non-compliance findings.
- Prepare periodic compliance reports for hospital leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospital Management, Life Sciences, Public Health, Law, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Hospital Administration (preferred).
- Certification in healthcare quality or regulatory compliance is an advantage.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in hospital licensing, regulatory affairs, healthcare compliance, or quality management.
- Experience working with healthcare regulatory authorities is preferred.
