Job Summary
The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that all home textile products, including bed sheets, pillow covers, comforters, quilts, curtains, cushions, towels, and other textile products, meet customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, and ensuring defect-free products before shipment.
Key ResponsibilitiesIncoming Material Inspection
- Inspect incoming fabrics, trims, labels, packaging materials, and accessories.
- Verify fabric GSM, width, shade, construction, and quality parameters.
- Ensure raw materials meet approved specifications.
In-Process Quality Control
- Conduct cutting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, printing, and finishing inspections.
- Monitor production processes to identify and prevent quality defects.
- Ensure workmanship standards are maintained throughout production.
Final Inspection
- Perform final random inspections as per AQL standards.
- Verify product measurements, appearance, stitching quality, packing, and labeling.
- Approve products for shipment only after meeting customer requirements.
Quality Monitoring
- Identify defects such as:
- Fabric defects
- Shade variation
- Stains and contamination
- Open seams
- Broken stitches
- Incorrect measurements
- Printing/embroidery defects
- Packing errors
- Initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain inspection reports and quality records.
- Prepare daily quality reports and rejection analysis.
- Track defect trends and recommend improvement actions.
- Support customer, third-party, and certification audits.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Textile Technology, Apparel Technology, Quality Management, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in Home Textile Quality Control.
- Knowledge of export customer requirements is preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of home textile manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of AQL inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of fabric construction, GSM, weaving, and finishing processes.
- Ability to identify fabric and stitching defects.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and report preparation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
