Role Summary
We are seeking a Tier 2 Hybrid Cloud Engineer to support and maintain our hybrid cloud environment spanning Microsoft Azure and on-premises VMware infrastructure. This role serves as the escalation point for Tier 1 support, handling complex incidents, performing root cause analysis, and driving operational improvements across the environment.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated infrastructure issues across Azure and VMware environments, including compute, storage, networking, and identity.
Administer and maintain Azure IaaS/PaaS resources (VMs, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Storage Accounts, App Services).
Manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter, vSAN, and distributed switches.
Maintain and troubleshoot DNS infrastructure (Azure DNS, on-premises DNS, conditional forwarding, split-brain DNS, hybrid resolution).
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and runbooks for automation, reporting, and operational tasks.
Support hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute, site-to-site VPN, Azure Arc) and ensure reliable communication between on-premises and cloud workloads.
Participate in change management, patching, and maintenance windows.
Monitor environment health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or equivalent tools and respond to alerts.
Document procedures, architecture decisions, and troubleshooting runbooks.
Collaborate with Tier 3 engineering and architecture teams on projects and escalations.

Required Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with **Microsoft Azure** (IaaS, networking, identity, storage).
Strong working knowledge of **VMware vSphere** (6.x/7.x/8.x), vCenter, and related technologies.
Solid understanding of **DNS** concepts and administration (A/AAAA/CNAME/MX/SRV records, forward/reverse lookup zones, conditional forwarders, private DNS zones).
Proficiency in **PowerShell** scripting for automation, reporting, and systems administration.
Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
Understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and load balancing.
Ability to work in a ticket-driven environment and manage competing priorities.
Must know Service Now, Jira, Dynatrace.
Preferred Qualifications
Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-700, or AZ-140).
VMware certifications (VCP-DCV).
Experience with Azure Arc, Azure Migrate, or hybrid identity (Entra Connect).
Familiarity with IaC tools (Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates).
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Azure Site Recovery, Veeam, Zerto).
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Work Environment
On-call rotation for after-hours escalations.
May require occasional off-hours maintenance work.
Hybrid or on-site depending on organizational requirements.
