Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive System Administrator to provide in-house IT support and ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. The candidate will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software and hardware-related issues, manage networks, maintain systems, and support internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
System Maintenance and Infrastructure Support
-Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for laptops, desktops, and related systems
- Assemble, upgrade, and maintain computer systems as required
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Ensure smooth functioning of day-to-day infrastructure including servers, local systems, internet, and internal access systems
- Monitor system and infrastructure health and take proactive actions to prevent failures
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, peripheral, and access-related issues (including printers, scanners, VPN, and internal tools)
- Proactively debug and fix infrastructure-related issues to minimize downtime
- Handle data and file transfers across systems and servers as part of infrastructure operations
Network Management
- Set up and maintain LAN and WAN infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues
- Ensure system and network security through monitoring and firewall maintenance
- Manage and maintain VPN and access control systems; debug connectivity and authentication issues
- Coordinate with external vendors (internet providers, hosting, domain/ email services) to resolve issues
Server Administration and Engineering Support
- Install, configure, and maintain servers (web servers, file-sharing systems, and related services)
- Troubleshoot server-related issues and ensure uptime
- Set up and manage NFS servers and cross-mounting across systems
- Configure and support job scheduling systems (e.g., Slurm controllers and clients)
- Manage, maintain, and improve existing Git infrastructure (including master and mirror setups)
- Implement and support user management systems (NIS/LDAP) on Linux environments (preferably CentOS 7 or similar)
- Configure and support distributed setups (e.g., primary/mirror servers and multiple clients)
- Install, configure, and test tools required for engineering teams and internal workflows
- Ensure reliability and proper functioning of development and infrastructure-related tools
Automation and Process Improvement
- Use AI tools to automate processes across Engineering, HR, and Marketing functions
- Develop and maintain scripts using languages such as Python, Perl, Shell, or Make to improve efficiency
Documentation and Administrative Support
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and changes
- Handle basic administrative and tracking tasks (including Excel-based work)
Required Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and infrastructure
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows environments
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN, IP, DNS)
- Familiarity with scripting/automation (Python, Perl, Shell, Make, or similar)
- Understanding of system security and firewall basics
- Basic familiarity with web servers and hosting environments is a plus
-Good communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendors
