Position OverviewThe Hotel Storekeeper manages the daily operations of the hotel's central storeroom. This role is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing all hotel inventory, including food and beverage (F&B) supplies, guest amenities, linens, cleaning chemicals, and engineering parts. The primary goal is to ensure adequate stock levels, prevent waste or theft, and accurately record all inventory movements.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Stock Management
- Issue stock items to various hotel departments only upon receiving authorized requisition forms.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent under-stocking or over-stocking of critical hotel supplies.
- Conduct regular audits and physical counts of all inventory items weekly and monthly.
- Maintain stock rotation using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method, particularly for perishable food items.
Receiving & Quality Control
- Inspect incoming goods against purchase orders (POs) and delivery notes for quantity, quality, and expiration dates.
- Report discrepancies, damaged items, or short deliveries immediately to the Purchasing Manager.
- Unload and transport delivered goods safely to their designated storage areas.
Organization & Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and strict organization within the storeroom, cold rooms, and freezer units.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring proper storage of chemicals separate from food items.
- Control storeroom access, ensuring security protocols are followed to prevent unauthorized entry or shrinkage.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or receiving, preferably within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in Supply Chain, Hospitality Management, or Finance is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with hotel inventory software (such as FMC, Opera, Materials Control, or SAP) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Competencies: Strong attention to detail, basic mathematical skills, and excellent organizational ability.
