Role Summary
The Team Leader – Sales is responsible for managing the sales team, ensuring disciplined follow-ups, improving conversions, achieving monthly revenue targets and maintaining a strong customer experience. The role requires daily ownership of lead management, counselling quality, team productivity and sales performance.
The Team Leader is expected to lead from the front, support the team in closing high-value cases and maintain a performance-driven culture at the branch.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Target Achievement
- Achieve the assigned monthly branch and team sales targets.
- Break the monthly target into weekly and daily targets for each team member.
- Monitor performance daily and take corrective action wherever required.
- Focus on revenue, conversions, package upgrades and repeat business.
2. Lead Management and Follow-Ups
- Ensure all walk-ins, digital leads, references and enquiries are followed up properly.
- Monitor lead response time and ensure no lead is missed.
- Review pending follow-ups, hot leads and lost leads daily.
- Improve conversions through structured follow-up planning.
- Ensure accurate lead status updates in CRM or daily trackers.
3. Team Management
- Manage, motivate and guide the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
- Conduct daily morning huddles and evening performance reviews.
- Assign priorities, follow-ups and responsibilities to each team member.
- Identify weak performers and provide coaching, scripts and practical support.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality and professional conduct within the team.
4. Customer Counselling and Closures
- Ensure customers receive clear, professional and ethical counselling.
- Support the team in handling high-value cases and difficult closures.
- Address customer objections related to pricing, packages and treatment plans.
- Ensure the team communicates value clearly without making false commitments.
- Maintain a customer-first approach while protecting business profitability.
5. Conversion Improvement
- Track daily walk-ins, consultations, closures, conversion percentage and average billing.
- Identify reasons for lost sales and implement improvement plans.
- Improve package conversion, add-on sales and cross-selling opportunities.
- Review sales scripts and objection-handling techniques regularly.
6. Reference Generation and Repeat Business
- Drive customer references through strong service experience and follow-ups.
- Ensure regular reconnects with existing customers for additional requirements.
- Encourage the team to generate references from satisfied customers.
- Track reference-based leads and conversions.
7. Reporting and Coordination
- Share daily sales reports with the Branch Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Total leads
- Walk-ins
- Consultations
- Sales closures
- Revenue achieved
- Pending follow-ups
- Team-wise performance
- References generated
- Coordinate with the backend team for lead flow, lead quality and campaign feedback.
- Highlight operational issues affecting sales performance.
8. Training and Development
- Train new sales team members on:
- Products and services
- Sales process
- Customer counselling
- Follow-up discipline
- Objection handling
- CRM usage
- Conduct role plays and sales reviews regularly.
- Share best practices and successful closure techniques with the team.
