Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
- Master’s degree in (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
- Additional certifications in Quality Management, Lean, or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) are preferred.
- Must have wide knowledge about Quality Standards and certification audit like ISO 9001/IATF/AS9100
Years of Experience
Minimum 15 years of experience in Quality roles within manufacturing or engineering environments.
Proven experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality leadership role, preferably in a growing or new manufacturing facility.
Position Summary
The Quality Manager is a key site leadership role responsible for establishing, implementing, and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS) for the Chennai manufacturing facility.
This role provides hands-on leadership across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain functions to ensure high-quality standards, regulatory compliance, and defect prevention. The position drives a culture of right-first-time delivery, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement aligned with the organization’s global quality strategy.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Quality Leadership & Culture
- Act as the site quality leader, setting standards for quality, consistency, and accountability.
- Drive a prevention-based quality culture through structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and SCM teams to ensure quality is embedded across all processes.
- Provide regular reporting on quality performance to senior leadership.
2. Quality Management System (QMS)
- Establish, implement, and maintain the site QMS in line with ISO 9001 and applicable standards.
- Manage document control, record management, and internal audit processes.
- Oversee nonconformance management and corrective/preventive action systems.
- Ensure scalability of QMS from initial setup to full production.
3. Audits & Compliance
- Lead external certification, regulatory, and customer audits.
- Manage internal audit programs and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Ensure compliance requirements are integrated into operational and supplier processes.
4. Supplier Quality & SCM Coordination
- Act as the primary quality interface for Supply Chain Management.
- Oversee supplier qualification, audits, and performance evaluation.
- Manage supplier nonconformances and corrective actions.
- Support supplier selection, sourcing decisions, and performance reviews.
- Drive supplier development initiatives to improve quality, delivery, and cost.
5. Manufacturing & Production Quality
- Provide quality engineering support for production setup, ramp-up, and steady-state operations.
- Ensure implementation of process controls, work instructions, and inspection systems.
- Support resolution of production issues impacting yield, scrap, and downtime.
6. Nonconformance & Continuous Improvement
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage internal and customer nonconformances.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and data-driven methodologies.
- Reduce cost of quality (CoQ) and recurring defects.
7. Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing quality team.
- Set objectives, provide coaching, and manage team performance.
- Ensure capability development and scalability of the quality function.
Tools & Technical Requirements
1. Tools and Technologies
- Quality Systems: QMS platforms, document control systems
- Audit Tools: Internal audit management systems
- Quality Tools: SPC, CAPA systems, root cause analysis tools (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why)
- Data & Reporting: Excel, Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Manufacturing Quality Tools: Inspection and testing systems, calibration tools
2. Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
- Experience in supplier quality management and audits
- Expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control systems
- Knowledge of compliance, regulatory standards, and audit requirements
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
