Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Associate – Accounts to take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, vendor accounting, reconciliations, statutory compliance support, and month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on accounting experience, the ability to supervise junior team members, and experience working in a fast-paced retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, or startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Accounting & Financial Operations
-Review and book purchase invoices after verifying PO, GRN, and vendor invoices (3-way matching).
-Ensure accurate accounting of vendor bills, employee reimbursements, rent, utilities, logistics, and other operating expenses.
-Monitor and review accounting entries posted by junior team members.
-Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
-Manage vendor advances, prepaid expenses, accruals, and provisions.
Reconciliations & Month-End Closing
-Prepare monthly accruals and provisions for pending expenses.
-Perform vendor, customer, bank, and ledger reconciliations.
-Identify discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
-Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
-Ensure timely closure of books and reporting requirements.
Compliance & Audit
-Support GST compliance, reconciliations, and statutory filings.
-Coordinate with auditors during statutory, tax, GST, and internal audits.
-Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of accounting records.
-Verify contracts, agreements, and approvals before accounting transactions.
Fixed Assets & Controls
-Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
-Track capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals of assets.
-Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
Team Coordination
-Supervise and guide junior accounting associates on day-to-day activities.
-Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, operations, and business teams for accounting-related requirements.
-Drive process improvements and ensure adherence to SOPs.
Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
-Strong understanding of accounting principles, GST, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
-Hands-on experience in accounts payable, vendor accounting, and financial reporting.
-Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data analysis, etc.).
-Experience working with Zoho Books, Tally, or similar accounting software.
-Prior experience in retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, distribution, or startup environments will be preferred.
-Experience handling audits and compliance activities is an added advantage.
-Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
