Job Title: Shift Engineer - Property Management
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Reports To: Chief Engineer / Engineering Manager

Job Summary
The Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of all engineering systems within the hotel or property during the assigned shift. This includes monitoring utilities, responding to maintenance requests, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring guest comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, generators, and building equipment during the assigned shift.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections of hotel facilities and equipment.
Respond promptly to guest room maintenance complaints and service requests.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
Ensure smooth functioning of DG sets, chillers, pumps, elevators, fire safety systems, and water treatment plants.
Maintain daily shift logs, maintenance records, and incident reports.
Coordinate with housekeeping and front office teams to resolve guest maintenance issues quickly.
Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards, fire regulations, and statutory requirements.
Supervise technicians and maintenance staff during the shift.
Manage handover and takeover between shifts with proper documentation.
Assist in energy conservation and cost control initiatives.
Qualifications
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
2–5 years of experience in hotel engineering, facilities management, or property maintenance.
Experience working with building management systems (BMS) is an advantage.
Key Skills
Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, STP, WTP, Fire Pumps, Emergency response and Building Maintenance Systems
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in rotational shifts
Good communication and coordination skills
Knowledge of safety procedures and fire systems
Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting
Preferred Experience
Experience in hotels, commercial buildings, malls, or residential property management
Knowledge of CCTV, BMS, IMS, 5S, BSC & Property management systems
