Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Safety: Screen patients for contraindications (e.g., metal implants), explain procedures, position patients correctly, and manage comfort during scanning.
- Imaging Procedures: Perform high-quality CT and MRI scans as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols.
- Equipment Operation: Manage console systems, choose software options, and manipulate imaging parameters.
- Maintenance & Quality Control: Perform routine equipment inspections, calibration, and quality assurance tests, reporting any malfunctions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Typically requires an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology.
- Certification: Active certification from relevant bodies, such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI/CT, is often required.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of anatomy, radiation safety (CT), and magnetic field safety (MRI).
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and patient management skills to handle anxious patients.
