JOB PURPOSE
The Documentation Controller in the Authorization Team is responsible for managing insurance authorization documentation, monitoring request statuses, and ensuring accurate and timely uploading of approval documents in the EMR system. The role ensures smooth communication with insurance portals and supports the authorization process to enhance patient service efficiency and revenue accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Insurance Authorization Coordination
- Check assigned insurance portals regularly for authorization request updates and status changes.
- Follow up with insurance companies to expedite pending authorizations.
- Escalate delayed or denied cases to the Authorization Officer or Supervisor as required.
Document Management & EMR Updating
- Download approval or rejection copies from insurance portals.
- Upload approval documents into the EMR system under the correct patient profile and encounter.
- Verify document accuracy, completeness, and proper tagging before final upload.
- Maintain version control and ensure that all required authorizations are linked to corresponding service dates and encounters.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all authorization documents comply with hospital/clinic policies and insurance requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient data as per compliance standards.
- Assist in internal audits by ensuring all approvals are accurately documented and retrievable.
Coordination & Communication
- Inform related departments promptly when approvals are received or pending.
- Respond to internal queries related to missing or incorrect authorization documents.
Reporting & Tracking
- Maintain daily logs of authorization requests, received approvals, and pending cases.
- Generate simple reports on authorization turnaround time, pending counts, or issues.
· Support team in clearing backlogs and improving workflow efficiency.
DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY
Operate within the framework of established policies, principles, and organizational goals, seeking guidance on policy-related matters to ensure alignment with organizational standards and objectives.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable for day to day issues/ assignments of the department.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (any discipline).

Pay: Up to ₹15,000.00 per month
