A Project Engineer for Plumbing/MEP manages the design, coordination, and installation of plumbing, drainage, and water supply systems within construction projects.
- Technical Design & Coordination: Review plumbing schematics, layouts, and specifications for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with local standards.
- Site Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation of piping networks (water, sewage, drainage), pump systems, and fixtures, ensuring they match approved plans.
- Clash Detection (BIM/CAD): Coordinate plumbing systems with structural, mechanical, and electrical components to identify and resolve interference issues before installation.
- Subcontractor Management: Oversee vendors and contractors, managing schedules, quality control, and troubleshooting, ensuring work adheres to safety and efficiency standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare Request for Information (RFIs), shop drawings, material submittals, and daily/weekly progress reports for project management.
- Planning & Estimation: Assist in developing plumbing schedules, project budgets, and material procurement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in plumbing codes, piping materials, hydraulic calculations and sustainable water systems.
- Experience: Previous experience in MEP, specifically in high-rise or commercial project plumbing systems.
