About the Role
Konnak Engineering Private Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to join our project team for an upcoming industrial project in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The successful candidate will be responsible for civil and structural engineering, construction planning, site execution, quality assurance, safety compliance, and coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil and structural engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and prepare civil and structural engineering drawings.
- Develop construction drawings, shop drawings, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Review foundation and structural designs for industrial facilities and equipment.
- Supervise construction activities, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process, and project teams.
- Monitor construction progress, contractor performance, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Review method statements, material submittals, and inspection requests.
- Verify work quantities and support project cost control.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and quality management systems.
- Lead and supervise site engineers, inspectors, and contractor teams.
- Participate in technical meetings, construction planning, and project reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial plant construction.
- Experience in EPC projects is preferred.
Required Experience
Candidates should have proven experience in:
- Raft foundations
- Reinforced concrete and structural steel works
- Circular tanks and equipment foundations
- Industrial buildings and utility structures
- BOQ preparation
- Construction drawings and site execution
- Contractor management
- QA/QC and HSE implementation
- Construction supervision from foundation through completion
Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial construction practices.
- Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of relevant IS Codes and engineering standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of structural analysis software is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
