Maintenance & Operations: Conducting regular inspections, troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Safety & Compliance: Ensuring buildings meet health, safety, and environmental regulations (fire safety, occupancy codes), including implementing emergency protocols.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Hiring, negotiating with, and supervising external contractors, vendors, and service providers (landscaping, security, catering).
Budgeting & Finance: Developing and managing facility budgets, including allocating resources for maintenance, renovations, and cost-saving initiatives.
Staff Supervision: Directing maintenance, janitorial, and security staff.
Space Planning & Operations: Planning facility renovations, handling office moves, and managing workplace technology.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation.
Project Management: Ability to manage renovations, repairs, and contractors on schedule.
Communication & Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills to work with staff, vendors, and management.
Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to maintenance, safety hazards, and emergency situations.
Tools: Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and MS Office.
Typical Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in facility management, building engineering, or business administration is preferred.
Experience: Several years of experience in property management, maintenance, or engineering roles.
Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) are highly valued.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Reduced Operating Costs: Successfully managing and reducing facility expenditures.
System Up-time: Maintaining, repairing, and optimizing equipment to avoid downtime.
Compliance Score: Ensuring zero violations during inspections.
Safety Record: Maintaining a secure and incident-free environmen
