Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer with hands-on experience in Wiring Harness Design, CATIA V5, and Vehicle Layout for automotive product development. The ideal candidate should have experience in wiring harness routing, vehicle packaging, electrical component integration, and automotive design documentation while ensuring compliance with OEM standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive wiring harnesses using CATIA V5 (Electrical Harness Design/Installation workbench preferred).
- Perform vehicle layout and packaging activities for wiring harness routing and electrical components.
- Create and modify 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and installation layouts.
- Ensure proper harness routing considering packaging, manufacturability, serviceability, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Suppliers.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, engineering drawings, and design release documents.
- Support design validation, engineering change management (ECN/ECR), and issue resolution activities.
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards, GD&T, and automotive design guidelines.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in CATIA V5.
- Hands-on experience in Wiring Harness Design and harness routing.
- Experience in Vehicle Layout and Vehicle Packaging.
- Good understanding of automotive electrical systems and harness installation.
- Ability to create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Knowledge of BOM preparation, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Knowledge of GD&T and engineering change management.
- Familiarity with automotive product development processes.
