JOB DESCRIPTION:
URGENT REQUIREMENT !!
A Chemist in the plating industry is responsible for controlling and optimizing chemical processes used in electroplating, metal finishing, anodizing, and surface treatment operations. This is a critical role because plating quality heavily depends on bath chemistry and process stability.
Main ResponsibilitiesBath Chemistry Control
- Analyze plating bath composition
- Maintain:
- Metal concentration
- pH
- Temperature
- Conductivity
- Additive levels
- Prepare and replenish chemical solutions
Process Monitoring
- Monitor plating efficiency and deposition rates
- Prevent contamination and bath degradation
- Optimize current density and chemical balance
Laboratory Testing
Common tests include:
- Titration
- Hull cell testing
- CVS (Cyclic Voltammetric Stripping)
- Specific gravity testing
- pH analysis
- Spectrophotometer analysis
Defect Investigation
Troubleshoot issues such as:
- Pitting
- Burning
- Blistering
- Poor adhesion
- Dull deposits
- Stains
- Corrosion failure
Environmental & Safety Compliance
- Wastewater treatment monitoring
- Chemical handling compliance
- Effluent analysis
- RoHS/REACH compliance
