Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in sheet metal product design. The ideal candidate should have strong CAD skills and experience in designing manufacturable products. Exposure to air handling systems, ducting, blowers, pneumatic conveying, hydraulics, or fluid handling systems will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies.
* Prepare 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs.
* Work closely with production and fabrication teams to optimize designs for manufacturability.
* Coordinate with vendors and suppliers during product development.
* Support prototype development, testing, and product improvements.
* Ensure designs meet quality, cost, and performance requirements.
* Participate in value engineering and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
* 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in sheet metal.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred) or similar 3D CAD software.
* Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, welding, bending, laser cutting, and assembly.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in air handling systems, industrial ventilation, pneumatic conveying, dust collection, or hydraulic systems.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial equipment design.
* Familiarity with ERP/BOM management is an advantage.
Education
* B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
