Job Title: Senior ICU NurseJob Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior ICU Nurse to join our Critical Care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients, supervise junior nursing staff, ensure adherence to ICU protocols, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, ventilators, infusion pumps, and other life-support equipment.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform patient assessments and promptly report changes in clinical condition.
- Assist physicians during emergency procedures, intubations, central line insertions, and resuscitation (Code Blue).
- Ensure accurate documentation of nursing assessments, treatments, and patient progress.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior nurses and nursing assistants.
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
- Coordinate with doctors, respiratory therapists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients' families regarding treatment plans, patient progress, and discharge care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and staff training programs.
- Ensure patient safety and maintain ICU equipment and emergency supplies.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Nursing or GNM with a valid Nursing Council registration.
- Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing or Critical Care Certification is preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of nursing experience, including 3+ years in an ICU, with prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of critical care nursing practices.
- Proficiency in ventilator management and advanced patient monitoring.
- Excellent clinical judgment and emergency response skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Critical Care Nursing Certification (preferred)
Work Schedule
- Full-time
- Rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹45,027.98 per month
