1. Job Purpose
The Mastercam Programmer will be responsible for developing efficient and accurate CNC machining programs using Mastercam 2026 for CNC/VMC/HMC machining operations. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings and 3D models, selecting appropriate machining strategies and cutting tools, generating CNC programs, conducting toolpath verification, and supporting production to achieve required quality, productivity, and delivery targets.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC machining programs using Mastercam 2026 based on engineering drawings, 3D models, and customer requirements.
- Create and optimize 2D, 3D, High-Speed Machining (HSM), and multi-axis toolpaths as applicable.
- Prepare programs for VMC, HMC, CNC machining centres, and other CNC machines.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, machining allowances, tolerances, and surface-finish requirements.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, inserts, machining parameters, and work-holding methods.
- Generate and verify G-code / NC programs suitable for the respective CNC machine controllers.
- Perform toolpath simulation, collision checking, gouge checking, and machining verification before releasing programs to production.
- Optimize cutting parameters and toolpaths to reduce cycle time, tool wear, and machining costs.
- Work closely with the Production, Quality, Tool Room, and Design/Engineering teams to resolve machining-related issues.
- Support CNC operators during first-off machining and prove-out activities.
- Modify and optimize existing CNC programs based on production feedback.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cycle-time reduction, and increased machine utilization.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control for CNC programs and machining processes.
- Ensure programs comply with company quality standards and machining practices.
- Troubleshoot programming-related issues and provide timely technical support to the shop floor.
3. Technical Skills Required
- Strong working knowledge of Mastercam 2026.
- Good knowledge of CNC machining processes and manufacturing methods.
- Hands-on experience in 2D/3D milling and CNC machining.
- Knowledge of HSM and toolpath optimization will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of G-code, M-code, offsets, work coordinates, and CNC machine parameters.
- Good knowledge of cutting tools, tooling systems, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of CNC controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar.
- Knowledge of machining materials such as mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminium, cast iron, and other engineering materials.
- Experience in fixture/work-holding concepts and machining sequence planning.
- Ability to identify and resolve machining and toolpath-related problems.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
